Policies & Guidelines for Your Visit


Please find below an overview of new policies and procedures we are instituting to ensure the health and safety of our staff and visitors.



Hours of Operation


Outdoor seating for our Tasting Room Grounds is available every

 Thursday through Monday from 11 to 5:30pm.






We would like to thank you in advance for your cooperation as we navigate new policies and procedures to prevent the spread of Covid-19 while continuing to offer you the ability to sit inside and enjoy our award-winning wines and beautiful venue. We know these changes may be an inconvenience to some, but it is our heartfelt wish that we can all work together during the upcoming winter months to keep each other safe and healthy until we can be outside again. As such, here are the updated policies and procedures as of November 20:


RESERVATIONS:  We are not currently taking individual or group reservations. All tables are first come, first served. We are open from 11am – 5pm.


ARRIVAL and CHECK IN:  We will have a welcome table set up on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays where you will check in upon arrival. On Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays, you will check in upstairs at the bar. During check-in, we request a valid credit card (one per table) to start a tab and will hold your card behind the bar until you are ready to check out. Those who want to be seated indoors will be assigned a table based on availability and the size of your group. (Please note that we will not be able to accommodate groups of more than 8 seated together. If you arrive with a larger group, you will be seated at any available tables in groups of 2-8). Those who want to sit outdoors may choose their table(s) at will (see outdoor seating guidelines).


FACE MASKS:  You are required to wear a mask when you enter and move around our building or at any time you are not seated. While seated, you may remove your mask. We will continue to provide table service inside and outside to mitigate your need to move around the facility.


INDOOR SEATING:  Seating in The Barns is limited, but many of our tables can accommodate up to 8 people. All tables will be numbered and spaced for social distancing. Due to this, no tables or chairs can be moved. After you arrive and “check in,” we will assign your group an available table (in the loft, our main floor, or in the cellar space) based on the number of guests in your group. If we do not have a table to accommodate your group indoor, you are welcome to seat yourselves outdoors. 


OUTDOOR SEATING:  Seating outside is a first come, first served basis. However, tables and chairs have been strategically placed to allow for social distancing around the campus and cannot be moved. We have invested in several new fire pits to accompany our larger communal fire pit so that you can cozy up and stay warm while enjoying our wines. Our staff will provide the wood for these firepits at no extra cost to our guests. Please note that table service outdoors is only available on the weekends. Guests who sit outside during weekdays must place wine/food orders at the bar upstairs.


WINE:  Wines will be offered by the bottle or glass (for our inside guests only). We will continue to offer self-guided tastings Thursday through Sunday.


FOOD:  During winter season, no outside food will be allowed inside the Barns. If you bring your own food for consumption, you will have to sit outside to enjoy it. We will continue to sell our picnic baskets (with a selection of cheeses, meats, spreads, and crackers) along with our famous chili (or other type of soup) and cornbread, delivered to your table anywhere on our campus. As usual, we also offer soft drinks, water, and apple juice for those who do not drink wine.


CHILDREN:  We have always been family friendly and want you to know your children will always be welcome at our vineyard. However, due to current Covid-19 restrictions, we are requiring that all guests be 21 years and older to sit inside The Barns during the winter season. You and your children are welcome to sit around the fire pits, under any pavilion, or anywhere else outside on campus. (We do ask that parents know where their children are at all times, especially around the fire pits). They can use our bathrooms inside as much as needed but, in keeping with current Virginia restrictions, must wear a mask indoors if they are over 5 years.


PETS:  During the winter months, no pets will be allowed inside. Pets are still welcome outdoors. 


MUSIC:  We are planning to continue providing live music on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the winter months from 1:00 to 4:00 pm, based entirely on the availability and capacity of our musicians. Due to limited indoor space, we will be hosting solo performers only until the weather warms up again.


GROUPS:  We will not be accepting any groups larger than 8 people unless the group wants to rent the space after our regular business hours or rent our farmhouse during open hours.  Pricing can be discussed with Susan Pratt, Operations Manager. Contact for more details.
