Policies & Guidelines for Your Visit

 

Please find below an overview of new policies and procedures we are instituting to ensure the health and safety of our staff and visitors.

Outdoor seating for our Tasting Room Grounds is available every

 Thursday through Monday from 11 to 5:30pm.

WE ARE NOT OPERATING A RESERVATIONS SYSTEM

SO NO RESERVATIONS WILL BE TAKEN

 

SPRING HAS SPRUNG WITH UPDATED POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

With a new season upon us, The Barns has updated our policies and procedures regarding Covid-19 to add more comfort for our guests while maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all that work and visit. With the beginnings of warmer weather ahead, our plan is to move and maintain our operations outside as often as possible.

See below for the updated policies and procedures for April 2021 through the fall 2021.  As always, thank you for your ongoing cooperation and patience as we navigate these new and evolving policies and procedures to prevent the spread of Covid-19 while continuing to offer you the best service that we can at our beautiful venue throughout the year.  

HOURS OF OPERATION: We are open from 11am – 5:30pm Thursday – Monday with last call at 5:00pm. On days where we have private events scheduled, such as weddings, we will host the last call at 4:30 and close the winery by 5:00pm. Please check our calendar for those dates.

RESERVATIONS:  With the exception of large group tastings, we continue to operate as a “no reservations required” venue. All tables are first come, first served, indoors and out. If you would like to schedule a group tasting in advance for up to 50 persons, we require a 50% non-refundable deposit of the total estimated cost to secure your reservation.

ARRIVAL and CHECK IN:  We will have a welcome table set up on weekends and holidays where you will check in upon arrival. On Monday - Friday, you will check in upstairs at the bar. During check-in, we request a valid credit card (one per table) to open a tab and will hold your card behind the bar until you are ready to check out. 

FACE MASKS:  You are required to wear a mask when you enter and move around our building or at any time you are not seated while inside. Once seated, you may remove your mask. We will continue to provide table service inside and outside to mitigate your need to move around the facility.

INDOOR SEATING:  We have many areas for indoor seating in The Barns, and some of our tables can accommodate up to 8 people. After you arrive and “check in,” your party may select any table in our loft, tasting room, or beautiful cellar space.  We ask that you sit at a table appropriately sized for your group and refrain from moving tables or chairs.

OUTDOOR SEATING:  Seating outside is on a first come, first served basis. Tables and chairs have been strategically placed to allow for social distancing around the campus and we ask that guests refrain from moving them unless authorized to do so by staff.  With 11 beautiful acres, there’s plenty of space for everyone and you are welcome to bring your own chairs, umbrella, tent, etc.

 

WINE:  Wines will be offered by the bottle or glass. Due to our current capacity, we ask that our guests seated outside who wish to order glasses of wine kindly place their orders at the counter inside where we can fill them immediately. We will continue to offer self-guided tastings Thursday through Sunday. 

FOOD:  No outside food will be allowed upstairs in the main tasting room. If you bring your own food for consumption, you may enjoy it outside or in our cellar space downstairs. We will continue to sell our picnic baskets on site (with a selection of cheeses, meats, spreads, and crackers). We also offer a selection of soft drinks, water, and apple juice. Guests may bring their own non-alcoholic beverages to enjoy during the visit, but no outside alcohol will be permitted. The Barns management reserves the right to inspect the contents of coolers or bags if we have reason to believe you are in violation of this policy. Coolers are allowed outside only.

CHILDREN:  We have always been family friendly and want you to know your children will always be welcome at our vineyard.  Due to the size of our campus and any unforeseen hazards, we ask parents to maintain an eye on their children at all times. In keeping with current Virginia restrictions, anyone over the age of 2 must wear a face mask indoors.

PETS:  Your canine companions are welcome here at The Barns! Guests are allowed one dog per owner and must keep their dog on a leash at all times. No exceptions.

MUSIC:  We provide live music outside on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the year from 1:00 to 4:00pm. During inclement weather, our musicians will move inside to the tasting room.

GROUPS:  We are thrilled to open our event space to large groups again! With permission from the Governor, we can now accommodate groups of 50 indoors and up to 100 outdoors. Contact Susan Pratt, Operations Manager, for details and pricing at info@thebarnsathamiltonstation.com
